    RT Level I – Shell Pennsylvania Chemicals near Monaca, Pennsylvania



    Carrying out routine non-destructive testing for which the individual is appropriately qualified and experienced in a competent and professional manner and communicating the results in a way that meets the needs of the client and ALS Industrial Division. Seeking out opportunities for improving the business and providing service of a high standard. Technician will likely operate as part of a two-person team with another Level I or Level II RT technician. When not performing RT technician will be expected to perform MT, PT, UT Thickness, or PMI.


    Performance Inputs


    The NDT role involves a commitment to attain the skills and experience to undertake work in a wide range of environments. It requires a commitment to gain knowledge of applicable standards and codes and manufacturing processes. Test results are often a result of interpretation and therefore experience gained will become an important attribute. The job involves working alongside, and taking direction from, experienced technicians. Much of the work is out of hours, required at short notice and away from home.


    Performance Outputs


    To carry out NDT activities in a reliable and competent manner in accordance with documented procedures. To provide our clients with a high level of service in all aspects of the job.

    • Assisting with accurate and prompt reporting of test results and details.

    Performance Standards


    • No radiation incidents. No injuries.
    • Compliance with codes, procedures and our operating system.
    • Assist with completion of reports prior to commencing next job. No report reissues as a result of inaccurate or insufficient detail.
    • Equipment maintained in clean and work- like condition. Malfunctions or problems promptly reported to supervisor for attention.
    • Responding to client time frames and requirements in a timely and courteous manner. Getting reports drafted promptly for review.
    • Advising manager or supervisor of ideas for improvement or opportunities.
    • Having a plan for personal development and implementing it.
    • Job can be very physical at times. Must be able to pick up 50 lbs and lift overhead. Must be able to walk 300 meters while carrying 50 lbs of gear. Must also be able to climb stairs 10 or more stories with gear.
    • Must be able to work in extreme temperature conditions and be comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.


    • Welding, Engineering, Mechanical or Trade background preferable.
    • Level I RT in accordance with SNT-TC-1A
    • Level II in MT, PT, UT Thickness in accordance with SNT-TC-1A
    • State Card
    • Have a valid driver’s license.
    • Possess or be able to obtain a TWIC Card.

    • Ability to work extended hours as necessary to meet client requirements.
    • Proven analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
    • Ability and willingness to follow instructions and procedures.
    • Must be computer literate (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel).
