    ALS Environmental


    Goals and objectives for the first 90 days will be:

    • Prepare both Quantitative and Qualitative standards and reagents as needed for the analysis procedures.
    • Become proficient in the different blood, urine and nutraceutical extraction processes for both the screening and confirmations of drugs.
    • Become proficient with the screening protocol of biological samples for the presence of drugs and controlled therapeutic medications.
    • Assist the R&D Chemist in extraction and preparation procedures for R&D Projects.
    • Ability to setup and run screening batches of samples on the LC/MS/MS instruments. Ensure the proper calibrations and operation of the instrument.
    • Perform screening data analysis and data review.
    • Become proficient in the use of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to record and document all analytical activities during the processing of samples.

    Other responsibilities will include:

    • Accurately review data to obtain the needed results.
    • Ensure proper analysis methods are conducted and Standard Operating Procedures are correctly followed on the appropriate samples.
    • Maintenance of lab supplies, chemicals, and reagent levels necessary to complete analysis.
    • Must become a professional member of the AORC.
    • Ensure the proper operation and functioning of the LC/MS-MS instrumentation.
    • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting as necessary. Schedule and conduct regular preventative maintenance with vendors.
    • Maintain Quality Control records and perform Quality review of data to ensure the accuracy and integrity of results.
    • Communicate procedural and operational difficulties and delays to Client Service and Management personnel as required.
    • Support Quality Department and Continuous Improvement processes.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
    • Perform other related duties as needed.
    • Assist in the training and development of other chemists.




    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in chemistry/biology/equivalent science.
    • Experience working in a laboratory setting preferred.
    • Good verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to learn quickly and follow direction.
    • Strong commitment to quality and integrity.

    Physical Demands:

    • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.
    • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.
    • Dexterity in hands and fingers.
    • Must have average vision and able to see to read labels.
