    Responsibilities

    • Liaise with client representatives to ensure work scopes are fully understood and appropriate techniques are used to conduct testing.
    • Conduct NDE in accordance with ALS procedures, state and national regulations and test standards.
    • Assist/conduct technical and systems audits as instructed by the Quality Manager.
    • In all activities strive for the highest level of operational efficiency to ensure a profitable contribution to the business enterprise.
    • Support the tendering and quoting process as directed by the VP Operations.
    • Drafting of new NDE technique sheets to ensure correct testing methods are adhered to.
    • Support the Radiation Safety Officer to ensure compliance with state and national requirements.
    • Liaise with HSE coordinator to conduct safety audits on premises and personnel to ensure compliance with state and national requirements.
    • Review and authorize NDE reports to ensure compliance to ALS procedures and applicable test standards prior to release to clients.
    • Ensuring all technicians have appropriate training to carry out their roles.
    • Supervise and assist in monitoring of radiation, be familiar with recovery techniques and provide assistance with regard to radiation safety, use, storage and transport of radioactive substances as required.
    • Facilitate equipment calibration, maintenance and repair activities in line with established procedures;
    • Attend and contribute to safety, planning and toolbox meetings.
    • Assist works administrator ensuring that sales orders and vouchers are completed correctly and reference correct procedures, test standards and acceptance criteria.
    • Oversee performance and abilities of NDE staff and provide guidance and training where required.

    Qualifications

     

    • Current NDE - Level 2 Certification in at least 2 methods
    • Current valid driver’s license
    • At least 5 years relevant industry experience performing radiography and/or ultrasonics on welds, castings and forgings.
    • Familiarity with NDE standards and their application
    • Well-developed organizational, communication and report writing skills
    • A commitment to safety, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
    • Experience in preparing quotations for NDE services
    • 3 years supervisory experience

     

    Requirements/essential criteria:

     

    • Ability to provide engineering and asset care solutions/advice is highly regarded.
    • Excellent reporting skills.
    • Demonstrate a high level of both written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven customer service instincts and interpersonal relationship skills.
    • Ability to work both individually or as part of a highly skilled team.
