Overview

ALS provides a broad range of testing and analytical services to a wide variety of end markets and industries around the globe. We continue to remain at the forefront of the testing services industry, building an enviable reputation.

 

General Accountability:

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the client advocate between ALS customers and the laboratory. As part of a select team within the customer service group this person will directly and indirectly work with clients and the lab to meet the goals as outlined in the ALS clients services manual.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as service center representative in select location to receive client’s samples and inquiries regarding laboratory service.
  • Prepare bottles in compliance with laboratory SOP for field service staff and client requests.
  • Maintain office supplies, chemical inventory for micro department, and bottle ware in conjunction with field service and client needs.
  • Perform duties as local site safety coordinator in coordination with ALS safety program.
  • Perform analytical services for microbiology analysis as backup analyst including compliance with method and SOP as listed in ALS QA Manual.
  • Perform general janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness of office and laboratory area.
  • Assist other departments as needed: Field Services, Sample Receiving, Project Management etc to aid in servicing the clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • Strong Customer/Client interaction skills and experienced in client contact; able to create innovative solutions to customer challenges
  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with staff, management and clients in a professional manner.
  • Good math and basic bookkeeping (A/R) skills.
  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate well with staff, management and clients in a professional manner.
  • Computer skills with knowledge in Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat
  • Experienced and skilled at treating others with cooperation and respect, and be able to understand and value both internal and external customers.
  • Multi-tasked, organized, detail oriented, possess excellent problem solving capabilities, and will have good time management capabilities.
  • Basic office machinery: fax, copier, adding machine

 

Education & Experience:

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working  in a similar position in an office environment.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management, and clients.
  • Able to sit, and /or stand for 100% of an 8 hour day.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer and other equipment.
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
