ALS provides a broad range of testing and analytical services to a wide variety of end markets and industries around the globe. We continue to remain at the forefront of the testing services industry, building an enviable reputation.


General Accountability: The primary purpose of this position is to work with the sample management team to receive and process environmental samples for laboratory analysis. Additional activities may include providing courier services via company vehicles and working with sample control technicians to manage sample inventory.


Work Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday


ALS Environmental




Specific Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibility: Sample Receipt & Login

Documentation of sample receipt conditions (e.g. temperature, pH, physical condition)

Log samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for tests specified to be analysed on samples.

Backup Courier Services

Coordinate pickups & deliveries with the project management team and company clients.

Assist with the sample control team on various tasks.

Sample handling & proper storage.

Assist with sample treatment and disposal.

Assist with maintaining the laboratories cooler inventory.

Clean & repair laboratory coolers.

Return shipping outside company coolers.

Per form other duties as assigned and directed. 



 RRRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Candidate must be detail oriented and able to closely follow laboratory procedures.
  • Candidate must be organized and effectively manage time commitments.
  • Good typing / data entry skills are required.
  • Applicant should be familiar with general scientific terminology.
  • Individuals must have a demonstrated ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to comply with company dress policy for client service positions
  • It is preferred that applicants have a clean driving record.
  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.
  • Position requires a flexible schedule to meet client & laboratory needs. 



  • High School Diploma and some college level courses in a science curriculum are required.  
  • A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related field or previous laboratory experience is preferred.  

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle in heavy traffic situations.
  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 4 hours while working. 
  • The ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
