Responsibilities

  • Routine maintenance and repairs on equipment such as heating and a/c units, blowers, scrubbers; jaw crusher, and ring mills;
  • General building maintenance such as replacing ceiling tiles  and painting;
  • Light plumbing and carpentry work;
  • Welding;
  • Work with contractors and/or suppliers;
  • Be available for on-call projects;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license to go on errands for the department;
  • May be required to do maintenance at other ALS USA sites as needed
  • Must be able to pick-up, purchase and transport building materials and maintenance items;
  • Assists with maintaining all log books and maintenance records/schedules;
  • Ability to complete unsupervised mechanical work such as: change belts, bearings, shafts, and basics equipment repairs.
  • Ability to determine the requirements of a maintenance project;
  • May order and arrange for supplies;
  • Observes established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude;
  • Metal Fabrication;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong command of the English language;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work under general supervision;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy and tact.
  • Basic knowledge of MS office, and computerized maintenance management software.
