About the role 

The primary purpose of the Volatiles Analyst is to ensure that high quality data is produced in accordance with prescribed methods and standard operating procedures. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the entire analytical process, from preparation of sampling equipment and sample preparation through data analysis using state-of-the-art analytical equipment such as GC and GC-MS.
• The chemist will become familiar with the analytical equipment and software, including but not limited to ChemStation, Target and the Horizon Laboratory Information Management System.
• Follow appropriate methodologies as prescribed in the laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Analyze evaluate and approve the results of QC samples.
• Document activities and report results in a concise accurate manner.
• Identify and report quality problems to the supervisor or QA department.
• Produce quality error free work.
• Meet production requirements
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Exercise laboratory safety practices.
• Strong commitment to quality and integrity.
• Must actively participate in the laboratory’s Quality System
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a dynamic, proactive role suited for a driven sales professional in the scientific sector, with a strong focus on new client acquisition and business development.

About You 

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious sales professional who is eager to develop their skills in the scientific services sector. You may not yet have deep industry experience, but you bring a strong drive, a passion for sales, and a proactive "hunter" mentality. You are enthusiastic, quick to learn, and excited to contribute to business growth while working alongside experienced teams.

• A commitment to cross training.

Desired Experience:

• Two years of education in a physical or environmental science or two years’ experience in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry is a plus.
• The ability to sit and/or stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working
• Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff management or clients.
• Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.
• Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
• Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
