Responsibilities

About the role 

 

This HR Manager position will provide temporary and project based support to the HR Director as well as the Sr HR Manager USA and the Sr HR Manager Canada & Geochemistry USA. This position will be focused on tactical HR support and partnership with the business to allow others on the HR team to allocate time to Workday testing, change management and implementation.

 

They will bring expertise in many areas of HR in Canada and in USA including employee relations, investigations, leadership training, workforce planning, recruitment, and engagement.

 

Temporary Full Time | Hyrbid

Location: North Vancouver, BC or Houston, TX 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in HR practices, procedures and initiatives across Canada and USA
  • Experience in delivering leadership and training programs
  • Multi-location and remote leadership and support
  • Familiarity with HRIS including ADP, Ceridian Dayforce and Workday is an asset
  • Experience with management of employee relations matters including serious investigations and assessment of risk profiles
  • Familiarity with legislative requirements and employment practices across US states and Canadian provinces
  • Experience in recruitment (sourcing and selection) as well as recruitment standards and regulations across Canada and the USA
  • Fluency in French and Spanish an asset.
  • Strong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated judgement, creativity, integrity and ability to problem solve.
  • Strong English communication skills written and verbal.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to build credibility and confidence at all levels of the organization.
  • Unparalleled time management combined with a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a diploma or university degree in Business Administration or equivalent is preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
  • Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to communicate via telephone and e-mail without assistance.
