About the role:

The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for growing revenue and maintaining business in the small to small- mid revenue markets.

Responsibilities

About You:

  • Identify, pursue, and capture new business for assigned revenue markets using consultative sales strategies. Heavy focus on outbound prospecting and qualification of leads, as well as development of incoming leads.
  • Research prospects prior to outreach to anticipate needs and provide solutions.
  • Prospecting/Qualifying – facilitate process of obtaining initial contact with prospective companies via phone/email to introduce ALS Pharma testing services and define potential opportunities.
  • Respond to client and prospect questions, seek technical support when needed.
  • Follow documented procedures for proper alignment of qualified leads within Sales team.
  • Ownership of sales cycle from Entry through Close for qualified leads within assigned revenue segment.
  • Transfer of qualified leads to appropriate GM or BDM if annual revenue exceeds defined BDR thresholds.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts within assigned revenue segment.
  • Perform virtual account maintenance meetings to ensure client satisfaction with lab partnership.

  • Build and maintain productive and collaborative relationships within the Sales and Client Service department to effectively support base of clients.
  • Provide guidance and training in the use of ALS Client portal to ensure clients gain maximum benefit from the system.
  • Facilitate the Onboarding Process in tandem with Client Services when initiating new accounts.
  • Ensure that clients’ unique requirements are understood at the lab(s) and properly documented.
  • Continuously gather and maintain information on competitors’ strengths, weaknesses, policies, pricing, services, etc. to increase likelihood of winning bid situations.
  • Participate in price increase process and communicate changes or other contract adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain client files within Dynamics documenting meetings, phone calls, emails, and opportunities.
  • Meet/exceed assigned KPIs to include meeting and call numbers, pipeline requirements, closed opportunities, activity reporting, adherence to sales models, and administrative functions specific to the role.
  • Review monthly sales reports for trends and respond appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Work with internal colleagues across the business to ensure that client expectations and needs are met
  • Participate in meetings between Lab Operations, Client Service, and Sales to proactively review existing accounts and determine possible sales opportunities within the accounts.
  • Coordinate local, regional, and national trade show needs and logistics for Sales teams.
  • Generate and meet deadlines for reports as directed
  • Develop and maintain professional selling skills and personal technical expertise relating to food safety and quality programs to support clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifcations:

  • BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or a related field, or equivalent experience or BA/BS degree Business or Communications
  • Working knowledge of chemistry or microbiology testing laboratories through previous work and/or sales experience.
  • Attention to detail and disciplined follow up skills.
  • Familiarity with consultative sales strategies.
  • Industry knowledge and ability to act as technical resource for clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a vocal advocate for the client’s needs and interests while maintaining excellent internal relationships.
